On April 26th Tyee will hold our first Makers Market. Students can register to have booths to sell handmade items, or food or drinks they have created. Each product should have at least 4 items or 4 ingredients that you have put together to create your unique product, unless it's individually crafted, such as origami, crochet, face painting, caricatures, pottery, photography, braiding, etc. There will be a rental fee of $30.00 (deducted from their sales) which will go towards Redecorating The Staff Lounge. Each vendor will also choose a charity of their choice to donate a percentage of their sales. We encourage students to hold tables in groups of 2 or 3, but other student names can be added to your table in the future. We will host three workshops the last 10 minutes of each lunch period to help create sales ideas, price-point, and marketing. If you have a great idea, lock it in now! If not, you will have ample time to decide upon the perfect thing, with the PTSA's help.
Please list your name and those at your table (if known), a description of the item, the food or drink, you will sell (if known), and the parent/guardian's contact email.
Students can also showcase their talents on the Performance Stage during the Makers Market.
You can play an instrument, sing, perform magic or juggle, a comedy routine - or other! You can receive donations just like a busker at Pike Place Market. Each slot is 10 minutes long. You can also have a vendor table at the event, just have someone to cover your table during that time. Those playing musical instruments must be in groups of 2-4.
Please list the names of the group members, the type of performance (i.e. 4 piece jazz band), the name of the piece of music if a musical performance (if you don't know leave blank and choose later), any special items needed other than microphone (music stand, chairs, additional microphones, etc.,) and a parent/guardians contact email.
We successfully hosted our first Tyee Makers Market edition on 24th April, Friday evening. We had terrific participation from kids selling candles, food, drinks, crochet, original art to make a few. Through them, we will were able to raise $300 for the set teachers lounge. A big thank you to the high school volunteers and PTSA members. Thanks to the amazing work by the volunteer team consisting of Valleri, Jenny, Christin, Elizabeth, Indira, Lynn and sirisha.
