Dear Tyee Families,

On behalf of the PTSA Board, we warmly welcome all new and returning families to the 2024-2025 school year. Tyee Middle School is a highly regarded institution, and we are fortunate to have a dedicated and skilled staff, along with actively engaged families. Our children are privileged to learn in such a rich and culturally diverse environment, and the PTSA is proud to be an integral part of Tyee’s ongoing success.

As the school year begins, we encourage all families to:

  1. Join the Tyee PTSA: Your membership supports the programs that make our school community strong. To join, please fill out the attached form or register online at tyeeptsa.org/Packet/Join. Please note that PTSA memberships must be renewed annually. For new families, be sure to check out the Tyee PTSA Information Bulletin to get acquainted with Tyee Middle School and our PTSA.
  2. Donate to the PTSA’s “Tyee Bucks” Campaign: “Tyee Bucks” is our primary source of funding. Your donations directly support teacher grants, classroom supplies and equipment, field trips, social events, programs, clubs, and more. We suggest a contribution of $150 per Tyee student, but any amount you can give is greatly appreciated. Donations can be made using the attached membership form or online at tyeeptsa.org/Packet/Donate (for PTSA members) or tyeeptsa.org/Packet/DonateGuest (for non-members).
  3. Volunteer at Tyee or with the PTSA: Volunteering is a fantastic way to connect with the school and your student. Opportunities are listed in this packet and are also available online at tyeeptsa.org/Packet/Volunteer.
  4. Read the “Tyee Times”: Stay informed throughout the school year with our weekly email newsletter, the "Tyee Times," which is published every Saturday. This is an excellent resource for keeping up with PTSA, school, and community events. All Tyee families automatically receive the Tyee Times, so please check your junk mail folder if it’s not appearing in your Inbox.
  5. Follow Us on Facebook and Join the Tyee Parent Facebook Group: Our PTSA Facebook page provides timely updates related to the school, PTSA, and the broader community. The Facebook group also allows members to post and share information. We encourage all families to join.

We greatly appreciate your continued support of the Tyee PTSA. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at tyeetimes@tyeeptsa.org. We look forward to an exciting and successful school year together!

Thank you,

Peggy Wang & Lynn Zhang

Tyee PTSA Co-Presidents

6th Grade Meet and Greet

The PTSA warmly invites all 6th-grade families to a fun-filled 6th Grade Meet and Greet on Friday, September 20, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Tyee Commons.

This special evening offers a wonderful opportunity for students and their families to connect, enjoy a magician's performance, and participate in a live lottery!

Please make sure to sign up your child if they'd like to participate in the lottery. We will print the names of signed-up students and place them in the lottery box—students who are not signed up will not be eligible for prizes.

Be sure to sign up via the link below by September 19.
Register your 6th Graders: https://tyeeptsa.org/Packet/6thMeetGreet

We're also looking for volunteers to help with setup (starting at 6:00 PM), serving snacks, and cleanup. Your assistance is greatly appreciated! Please sign up using the link below.

Support the 2024-25 Tyee Bucks Fundraising Drive

Join hands in bolstering Tyee's educational experiences through the "Tyee Bucks" fundraising campaign. Your contributions play a pivotal role in fueling Tyee's field trips, equipping classrooms, empowering teachers with grants, sparking student social events, driving PTSA programs & clubs, and beyond. This initiative stands as the primary financial backbone for Tyee PTSA.

Our fundraising goal is $35,000, and thanks to the generosity of our families, we’ve already raised $31,150! If you haven’t had a chance to contribute yet, we encourage you to do so. While a suggested donation of $150 per Tyee student is recommended, we truly appreciate any amount that feels right for you. Your generosity makes a profound impact, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
