Join the Tyee Middle School WalkAbout Program

Greetings from the Tyee Middle School WalkAbout program! Your support is crucial for the success of this initiative.

What is WalkAbout?

Tyee's WalkAbout Program, sponsored by PTSA and supported by the school, is a parent-staffed effort that brings a positive and friendly adult presence to campus during high-traffic periods, such as before school and lunch times. This additional adult presence fosters appropriate behavior, ensuring students feel secure and connected throughout a significant part of their day. It's a delightful, adaptable, and straightforward way to get involved.

WalkAbout enjoys strong administrative backing from our dedicated teachers and staff. Everyone is encouraged to participate after completing a one-time training session and the necessary BSD Volunteer background check. This program is particularly attractive to working parents due to its flexible volunteering times. You can sign up to help once a week, once a month, or according to your availability. The heart of this program lies in our VOLUNTEERS!

How to volunteer for WalkAbout?
  1. Watch the training video
  2. Attend the optional WalkAbout workshop on Friday, October 6th, from 2:30-3:20 pm, where you can meet Mr. Lillie and gain insight into his expectations in person, although watching the online video suffices.
  3. Complete a background check and check-in at the LobbyGuard site in the front office before volunteering. Volunteer sign-up details will be provided after the workshop.
If you have any questions, please contact us at wab@tyeeptsa.org. Thank you so much for your help.

Tyee Bucks Fundraising
Tyee Families, please contribute to the 2023-24 “Tyee Bucks” fundraising campaign! “Tyee Bucks” donations directly support Tyee field trips, classroom supplies/equipments, teacher grants, student social events, PTSA programs & clubs, and more. This is Tyee PTSA’s main revenue source. The following video will show you the main functions of PTSA and where PTSA funds are allocated. You can also consult the Pie Chart below to see where Tyee bucks go. We recommend that families contribute $150 per Tyee student, but any donation amount you are comfortable with is appreciated.

Many thanks to all families who have contributed to our Tyee Bucks Fundraising Campaign. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generous donations and support. If you have not yet made a donation, we encourage you to do so. Your support makes a difference.
