The 2024–2025 Reflection’s theme is Accepting Imperfection…
The Reflections program is sponsored by National PTA to promote and encourage artistic creativity, both in the classroom and at home. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to showcase their creative talents in a nationally acclaimed student recognition program.
This program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. Reflections program invites Tyee students to submit original works of art in
one or all the available arts categories:
Students may submit in as many arts categories as they would like, however, only one entry per arts category is allowed. Get started now…
Please get 24-25 Reflection Submissions Official Rules and download the fillable online Student Entry Form and fill out your information/signatures /Artist Statement (Only Accept Typed)

All PTA Reflections program entries are judged on three criteria:
• Interpretation of Theme : How closely the piece relates to the theme, based on the artwork itself and the artist statement.
• Creativity : How creative and original the piece is in its conception of the theme and its presentation.
• Technical Skill : The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area.
Finalists from local PTAs will move on to their council PTA (if applicable), then finalists from councils will advance to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation award will advance to the National PTA round.
In Reflections, judges strongly consider the artist's interpretation of the Reflections theme as shown in the student's original artwork, title and artist statement.
To best represent their creativity and originality, artists should create:
An artist statement should reflect the student's age and/or support needs. Any support provided by an adult (e.g., teacher, parent, guardian) should be minimal and should not alter the student's creative vision or process.
National PTA is seeking a theme for the 2026-2027 Reflections Program Year.
An annual theme is determined by the National PTA Reflections Theme Search Contest.
Students may enter their theme idea by applying on the Theme Search entry webpage by:
November 4th, 2024.
The student who submits the ultimate winning entry will receive $100 and have their theme presented at the National PTA Convention in 2025.
