1. 6/21 Promotion Ceremony: 8th graders and their families are invited to attend the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, held at the Tyee Gym. The ceremony will be June 21st from 12:10 pm - 1:30 pm, with refreshments to follow (provided by PTSA) in the outdoor courtyard. Gym doors will open at 11:40 am for families. Friendly reminder that parking will be limited and side parking along the front of the school will not be permitted. Carpooling or walking if you live close by is highly suggested.
2. 8th Grade Party Tickets on Sale, Tues., 5/29 – Mon., 6/4
Tickets for the 8th grade party will be sold during 2nd & 3rd lunches Tuesday, 5/29 – Monday, 6/4. Tickets are $25 each. Cash or check payable to “Tyee PTSA”. Payment must be accompanied by a signed permission slip. Tickets will *not* be sold at the door, so make sure your student purchases a ticket during the dates listed. Note that students will not receive a physical ticket when they turn in their payment and permission form. Instead of physical tickets, we are keeping a list of students who have paid. We will check students against that list when they check-in for the party on 6/15.
The 8th grade party will be Friday, June 15 from 7:30 – 10 pm in the Tyee Commons & Gym.

3. 8th Grade Party Attire
For the 6/15 party, dressy attire is encouraged but not required. For students who want to dress up, examples include: a dress/skirt/nice pants for a girl and a nice shirt and pants for boys. Ties are not required. We want students to have the opportunity dress up if they choose, but we don’t want attire suggestions to prevent students from participating. Most important, we want 8th graders to feel comfortable and join their friends for an evening of fun.
